RESOLUTION NO. 95-109
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR
REPLACING THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS SOUND SYSTEM
AND COUNCIL DAIS
WHEREAS, the City has received numerous complaints from the viewing public regarding
the quality of sound produced by the recording and amplification equipment in the City Council
Chambers; and
WHEREAS, replacing the sound system will necessarily include rewiring and replacing the
microphones on the Council dais; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to reconfigure the Council dais to include seating for
appointed staff and to provide greater video access for television broadcast of Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, during the FY 1996 budget process, a majority ofthe Council indicated a desire
to include funding for these renovations in the FY 1996 budget; and
WHEREAS, this funding was inadvertently left out of the final draft of the budget approved
by the Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The FY 1996 budget is hereby amended by appropriating the sum of $25,000 from
the General Fund Fund Balance Account No. 101-3070-0103 to the Capital Acquisition Fund
Account No. 103-3050.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby instructed to proceed with design and bidding of a
project to replace the Council Chambers sound system and Council dais.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 11th day
of September, 1995.
