CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-110
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASY~, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SNOWGUARDS
FOR THE SPRING CREEK CORRECTIONAL CENTER WITHOUT
FULL UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, Rainproof Roofing, Inc., constructed the roof
on the APS building at the Spring Creek Correctional Center;
and
WHEREAS, the roof construction carries a 10-year
guarantee by the contractor; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the installation
of snowguards on the roof will solve a long-standing design
problem affecting the safety and security of the building;
and
WHEREAS, changes to the roof by any contractor other
than Rainproof Roofing, Inc., will void the guarantee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to award a
contract to Rainproof Roofing, Inc., in an amount not to
exceed $24,150.00, to provide eight hundred (800) snowguards
for the APS building at the Spring Creek Correctional Center
without full utilization of city bid procedures.
Section 2. The. city manager is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with Rainproof Roofing, Inc., as provided
in Section 1, above.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, this 4 day of October , 19 88 .
