CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE FEDERALLY-FUNDED SEWARD
MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER RAILS AND CRADLES PROJECT
WHEREAS, the city has constructed a rail system at the
Seward Marine Industrial Center for use with the syncrolift;
and
WHEREAS, the project was funded with a combination of
$600,000 of federal EDA funds, $600,000 of city funds and
$906,000 of state funds; and
WHEREAS, the project has now been completed; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic
Development Administration, requires that the project be
formally accepted by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city's Rails and Cradles Project,
located at the Seward Marine Industrial Center and partially
funded with federal EDA monies, is hereby accepted.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
