CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-118
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE ORDER TO
AIR TEK FOR EMERGENCY REMEDIAL WORK AT THE PRISON
WHEREAS, it was necessary to accomplish certain remedi-
al electrical work at the Spring Creek Correctional Center
to enable occupancy; and
WHEREAS, quotes were received from local electrical
contractors, and Air Tek submitted the lowest quote and was
available to perform the work in a timely manner; and
WHEREAS, the work was estimated to cost less than
$5,000; and
WHEREAS, Purchase Order No. 06539 was issued to Air Tek
in an amount not to exceed $5,000; and
WHEREAS, the scope of the required work is being
determined as the job proceeds and is being paid on a time
and materials basis; and
WHEREAS, the actual amount of work required exceeds the
$5,000 limit of the purchase order; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the prison construction
budge t ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would be best served by
waiving the competitive bidding requirements of Section 10-8
of the City Code for emergency remedial electrical work at
the Spring Creek Correctional Center.
Section 2. Purchase Order No. 06539, issued to Air
Tek, is hereby amended to reflect a project cost not to
exceed Ten Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety and No/100Ths
Dollars ($10,990.00).
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, this ~ day of October 1988
