CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-129
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGEMENT OF
PUBLIC CAJ1PGROUNDS, SETTING CM1PER FEES, AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR PREPARATION FOR THE
1989 CAMPER SEASON
WHEREAS, public park properties located at the Water-
front Park, Forest Acres Park and Fourth of July Creek are
used for public camping and are under the ownership and
jurisdiction of the city of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the maintenance and care of parks, the safety
of park users, the development of park projects, and the
enforcement of public park and camping regulations are under
the jurisdiction of the city of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the city wishes to seek methods of increasing
revenues to the city's General Fund for city operations and
park improvements for the benefit of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city Parks and Recreation Department is
hereby charged with the responsibility of maintaining and
operating city campgrounds, including the collection of fees
for camping.
Section 2. The rate for camping in public campgrounds
within the city of Seward is hereby amended and set at $5.00
per day per camper unit.
Section 3. The sum of $16,000 is hereby appropriated
from the General Fund-Fund Balance Account No. 101-273 to
the Parks and Recreation Department budget for the purchase
of commodities and the costs of staffing for the 1989 camper
season, and the appropriate revenue and expenditure budgets
are amended accordingly.
Section 4. All prior resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby rescinded.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
