RESOLUTION NO. 89-025
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SEWARD
GENERAL HOSPITAL FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION
OF A CENTRAL CARDIAC MONITORING SYSTEM
~VHEREAS, Seward General Hospital currently owes the
city of Seward in excess of Four Hundred Thousand Dollars
($400,000) for utilities, insurance, and data processing
fees; and
~VHEREAS, Seward General Hospital has many critical
equipment needs including a central cardiac monitoring
system which is necessary to assure adequate medical care to
the community; and
WHEREAS, payment of its debt to the city will seriously
impact the availability of cash to meet hospital operating
and equipment purchase needs; and
WHEREAS, the city of Seward wishes to assist the
hospital in providing adequate health care to the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is authorized to appropri-
ate the sum of Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000) from the
General Fund-Fund Balance to General Fund Account No.
101-118-5l8-35-6l.
Section 2. The city manager is further authorized to
expend up to Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000) for the
purchase a.nd installation of a Central Cardiac Monitoring
System and related equipment at Seward General Hospital,
provided that there occurs first payment in full of all
data processing fees and charges due the city by Seward
General Hospital.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, this 28th day of March , 1989
