CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-045
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR
INSTALLATION OF A PROTECTIVE BUMPER ON THE
SHIPLIFT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, last fall, the City Council authorized the purchase
of a protective bumper for the synchrolift; and
WHEREAS, the bumper is on site, but has not yet been in-
stalled; and
WHEREAS, local contractors have declined to bid on the
installation because of on-going oil clean-up operations; and
WHEREAS, the only response received to an informal request for
bids was from Construction Rigging;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a
contract in the amount of $8,500 for installation of a protective
bumper on the shiplift to Construction Rigging.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to
appropriate the sum of $8,500 from the Harbor Fund Fund Balance to
the Harbor Operating Fund, and the budgets are amended accordingly.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 8th day of May, 1989.
