RESOLUTION NO. 85-83
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT
FOR TRANSMISSION LINE REPAIRS WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION
OF THE BID PROCEDURES SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE
SEWARD CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the report of the condition of the 69 Kv transmission
line was not received in a timely manner; and
WHEREAS, CH2M Hill had initially indicated that there were no
significant problems which would preclude energizing the line to 69 Kv;
and
WHEREAS, the actual report of condition of the transmission
line noted some essential work which must be accomplished prior to
energizing the line; and
WHEREAS, the Seward electric crew is unable to perform the
required work at this time; and
WHEREAS, the repairs to the line must be completed before work
can begin on the 115 Kv line; and
WHEREAS, there is not sufficient time to advertise for bids
for the repair work as required by Section 10-8 of the City Code; and
WHEREAS, five electrical contractors were invited to submit
proposals for completion of the necessary repair work; and
WHEREAS, two proposals were received, with Current Electric
being the low bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest will best be served by walvlng
the bid procedures as set forth in Section 10-8 of the City Code.
Section 2. The City Manager is

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
