RESOLUTION NO. 85-110
A RESOLUTIrn OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ROLLERSKATES
WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATICN OF THE BID PROCEDURES SEI' FORm
IN SECI'ION 10-8 OF THE SEWARD CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the Pecreation Department plans to offer a corrmunity
rollerskating program utilizing the gymnasium located at AVI'EC; and
WHEREAS, frmds are available in the Pecreation Departnent
budget for the purchase of skates; and
WHEREAS, two distributors of cormercial rollerskates in Alaska
were contacted and asked to submit proposals for providing skates for
the program; and
WHEREAS, only Alaska Skating Distributors has been responsive
to the City's requests for information and proposals; and
WHEREAS, formal advertising would delay the initiation of the
program;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF '!HE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section I. The public interest would best be served by
walvlng the bid procedures set forth in Section lO-8 of the Seward City
Code for the purchase of rollerskates for the Pecreation Department.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a
purchase order to Alaska Skating Distributors in an anormt not to exceed
$9,500 for the purchase of l50 pairs of rollerskates.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect imnediately upon
its adoption.
