RESOLurION NO. 86-2
A EESOLurION OF THE CI'IY COUNCIL OF THE CI'IY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUl'HORIZING AN AMENIMENl' TO THE
PARTICIPATION AGREEMENl' OF THE CI'IY TO INCLUDE
EMPLOYEES OF THE SEHARD GENERAL HOSPITAL IN THE
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES I RETIREMENT SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Seward wishes to make it possible for
Seward General Hospital employees to participate in the Public Employ-
ee I s Eetirerrent System;
NOO, TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CI'IY OOUNCIL OF THE CI'IY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City l1anager is hereby authorized and directed
to:
1. Instruct the Hospital Administrator to take all the
steps necessary to enroll Seward General Hospital employees in the
Public Employees I Eetirement System, and
2. Initiate an Amendment No. 1 to the City of Seward
participation agreement with the Public Employees' Eetirement System to
include Hospital employees.
Section 2. All regular full-tine and part-tine eligible
employees of the Seward General Hospital shall be participating members
of PEES.
Section 3. All past service will be recognized for current
employees of the Hospital and those rehired after January 1, 1986.
Section 4. Hospital employee participation shall begin
effective January 1, 1986.
Section 5. Financial reports from the Seward General Hospital
to Public Employees ' Eetirement System will be made under a separate
employer identification number than that of the City of Seward employ-
ees.
Section 6. This resolution shall take effect irrIrediately upon
its adoption.
