RESOLurION NO. 86-5
A RESOLurION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEHARD, ALASKA, mNGRATlITATING AUDRA MAl FOR HER PERFORMANCE
ON THE NATIONAL t1ERIT SCHOIARSHIP TEST
HHEREAS, the National merit Scholarship Corporation annually
tests students in a merit program that can result in an award of schol-
arships; and
WHEREAS, Audra Mai of Seward High School has been designated
as a semi-finalist in the 1986 merit program and is therefore eligible
for consideration as a finalist; and
WHEREAS, there are only 15,000 semi-finalists from aroong the
competitors in the nation's high schools who continue in competition for
5,800 merit scholarships to be awarded under this program; and
WHEREAS, the performance of Audra Mai as a semi-finalist
indicates scholastic performance ability of the highest degree;
NCM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY mUNCIL OF TIlE CITY
OF SEWARD, M.ASKA, that:
Section 1. Audra Mai of Seward High School is congratulated
for being named as a semi-finalist in the National Herit Scholarship
Program for 1986.
Section 2. Copies of this resolution shall be sent to Audra
Mai and the principal of Seward High School.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect :i1TJrrediatel y upon
its adoption.

ALASKA, this 13th day of January , 19 86 .
