RESOLUTION NO. 86-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
SETTING CAMPGROUND FEES IN DESIGNATED CIlY CAMPING AREAS
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 85-40, set the fee for camping in designa-
ted City of Seward campgrounds at FOUR and NO/IOO ($4.00) DOLLARS per day;
and
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has determined that the 3%
Borough/City sales tax applies to campground registration fees; and
WHEREAS, The 3% sales tax requires the campground contractor to
collect TWELVE ($.12) CENTS tax, making it difficult to make change and
proving irritating to campers; and
WHEREAS, this problem can be facilitated by increasing the rate to
FOUR and 25/100 ($4.25) DOLLARS per day to include the 3% sales tax;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The fee for camping in designated City of Seward
campgrounds is hereby set at FOUR and 25/100 ($4.25) DOLLARS per day,
payable in advance.
Section 2. The fee for camping includes sales tax, and it shall
be the responsibility of the cmapground collection contractor to remit to
the Kenai Peninsula Borough the required sales tax.
Section 3. Resolution No. 85-40 is hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
