CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 86-29 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A SOLE SOURCE CONTRAcr FOR SYNCHROLIFT INSPOCTION AND MAINTENANCE TO PEARLSON ENGINEERING, INC. WHEREAS, certain maintenance, repair and rrodifications to the Seward Marine Industrial Center (SMIC) synchrolift have been identified as necessary at this tine; and WHEREAS, Pearlson Engineering, Inc., was the designer and provider of the synchrolift at the SMIC; and WHEREAS, Pearlson Engineering, Inc., will be on-site in order to complete certain uncorrected deficiencies remaining from its original contract with the City; and WHEREAS, Section 10-8 of the City Code provides for exceptions to the bid procedures when the public interest would best be served by eliminating the requirerrent for corrpetitive bidding; ~m, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The public interest would best be served by walvlng the requirerrent for ccrnpetitive bidding as set forth in Section 10-8 of the Seward City Code. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a sole source contract to Pearlson Engineering, Inc., for SMIC synchrolift inspection and maintenance in the amount of $6,615.00. Section 3. Created within the Shiplift II capital project ac=unt is a Synchrolift Inspection and Maintenance contract budget not to exceed $7,727.00. Section 4.
