RESOLUTION NO. 84-99
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT
WITH B & R ENVIRONMENTAL FOR THE DISPOSAL OF
PCB CONTAMINATED MATERIALS
WHEREAS, the Seward Electric Department has in its possession
30 drums of material and 3 transformer cases which are contaminated with
PCB; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency has set deadlines
for the proper disposal of PCB contaminated materials; and
WHEREAS, B & R Environmental is the only known firm in the
State capable of performing this service at this time and within the
time frame set forth by the EPA; and
WHEREAS, B & R Environmental has agreed to properly dispose of
these materials for a contract price of $42,100.00; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds for completion of this project are
available in the electrical utility budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a sole-source agreement with B & R Environmental for the disposal
of PCB contaminated materials in an amount not-to-exceed $42,100.00.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
