CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 84-100 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS FOR GANGWAY REDECKING IN THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF THE BID PROCEDURES AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE SEWARD CITY CODE WHEREAS, the FY 85 Harbor budget contained funds for the redecking of six gangways in the Small Boat Harbor; and WHEREAS, all labor necessary to install the new decking will be provided by Harbor personnel; and WHEREAS, full utilization of the City's bid procedures for the purchase of redecking materials would be both costly and time consuming; and WHEREAS, the Harbormaster solicited price quotations for decking materials from several Anchorage and Seward based suppliers; and WHEREAS, five responsible suppliers responded to the request for quotes; and WHEREAS, the lowest price quote was received from Seward Ship's Chandlery of Seward, Alaska with a bid of $8,142.62, FOB Seward; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Council finds it to be in the public interest to waive full utilization of the bid procedures set forth in Section 10-8 of the City Code prior to purchasing redecking materials for the Small Boat Harbor. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order, in an amount not-to-exceed $8,142.62, to Seward Ship's Chandlery of Seward, Alaska for the purchase of redecking materials.
