CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 95-130
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING STATE GRANT FUNDS
FOR PROJECTS SUBMITTED IN THE FY 1996 CAPITAL
PROJECT MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has established the Municipal Capital Project matching
grant program under AS 37.06; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has made available under this program Grant No. 96/668-3-
002 for $12,600 for purchase of electrocardiogram and dynamap critical care monitoring system; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to contribute $2,599 as its share of this project in the form
of a cash contribution; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has also made available under this program Grant No.
96/668-9-003 for $12,000 to refurbish the Seward Community Cemetery; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to contribute $2,475 as its share of this project in the form
of in-kind services of the Public Works Department, the Parks & Recreation Department and the
Community Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has made available under this program Grant No. 96/668-5-
001 for $48,200 for the purchase of a rescue/emergency response vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to contribute $9,942 as its share of this project in the form
of a cash contribution; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has made available under this program Grant No. 96/668-9-
004 for $28,662 for the purchase of city offices computer network and community electronic
bulletin board; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to contribute $5,912 as its share of this project in the form
of a cash contribution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

Section 1. The City of Seward hereby agrees to accept the above referenced funds for the
purpose intended in this resolution, to provide its share of the project total and to abide by the terms
of the grant agreement for this project.
Section 2. The grant funds accepted in Section 1, above, are appropriated as follows:
A. The sum of$12,600 (Grant No. 96/668-3-002) is accepted to the Hospital Emergency
Services Equipment Fund, Account No. 273-2736-4680-0200, to be appropriated to Seward General
Hospital through pass-through expenditure Account No. 273-2736-5998.
B. The sum of$l2,000 (Grant No. 96/668-9-003) is accepted to the Seward Community
Cemetery Capital Project Fund, Account No. 273-2734-4680-0200. Local matching funds in the
amount of $2,475 are hereby appropriated from the General Fund Operating Transfers-Out Account
No. 101-0000-3070-0273 to the Seward Community Cemetery Fund Operating Transfers-In Account
No. 273-0000-3070-0000, and the total sum of $14,475 is appropriated to Seward Community
Cemetery Expenditure Account No. 273 -2734- 5 XXX ($1,447 to Project Overhead and the remaining
$45,790 to various line items).
C. The sum of $48,200 (Grant No. 96/668-5-001) is accepted to the Emergency Rescue
Vehicle Capital Project Fund, Account No. 273-2732-4680-0200, and is appropriated to Emergency
Rescue Vehicle Expenditures Account No. 273-2732-5XXX ($2410 to Project Overhead and
$45,790 to various line items). The local matching funds totaling $9,942 will be appropriated upon
completion of financing arrangements for the purchase of the emergency rescue vehicle.
Section 3. Legislative reappropriation of funds awarded in Grant No. 96/668-9-004 in the
amount of $28,662 shall be requested for a project to be determined by the City.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 6th day
of November, 1995.
