RESOLUTION NO. 82-69
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT
FOR JEFFERSON STREET SEWER IMPROVEllENTS TO ELLING HALVORSON, INC.
WHEREAS, the construction of the Jefferson Street sewer improvements was
advertised for public bid, and.
WHEREAS, funds are available and were budgeted for this project by the
City of Seward, Resolution No. 82-68 , in the amount of FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE
THOUSAND PIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY AND NO/lOO DOLLARS ($57,580), and
~rnEREAS, the builder of the Lowell Canyon Townhouse will be advancing to
the City TWELVE THOUSAND AND NO/IOO DOLLARS ($12,000) as an aid-to-construction, and
HHEREAS, it is anticipated with administrative expenses, engineering and
construction the above budget is sUDficient to construct the Jefferson Street sewer
improvements, and
WHEREAS, bids were submitted bv three contractors and were opened on
September 9, 1982, and
WHEREAS, Elling Halvorson, Inc., is the apparent low bidder with a bid of
. FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY AND NO/lIJO DOLLARS ($48,970), and
WHEREAS, enp,ineers employed by the City of Seward have reviewed the bid
documents submitted by the bidders and have recommended that the bid be awarded
to the apparent low bidder, Elling Halvorson, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. An award for the contract for construction of Jefferson Street
sewer improvements is hereby made to Elling Halvorson, Inc., for a price not to
exceed FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($48,970).
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized and instructed to enter into
a contract on behalf of the City of Seward, Alaska, with Elling Halvorson, Inc.,
in accordance with the bid documents.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
this 27 day of September 1982.
