CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. R1-b
A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE COAL EXPORT
CAPITAL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has been actively engaged in developing
the Port of Seward as the coal export terminal for Alaska, and
WHEREAS, theses activities have involved an active marketing and
promotion effort, and
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council has found it to be in the community's
interest to promote the development of the Port of Seward as Alaska's
premier coal export terminal, and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has leased property to Torkelson-Kellogg
Corporation for the purposes of developing a major coal terminal within
the Fourth of July Creek Industrial Area, and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has further been included in the discussions
concerning the proposed Sun Eel Alaska coal export project, and
WHEREAS, prospects appear good that coal will begin moving through
the Port of Seward to the Republic of South Korea in 1984, and
WHEREAS, these activities have necessitated the expenditure of city
funds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to close out the Coal Export
Capital Project No. 223000,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $61,817.98 is hereby appropriated from the
Project Overhead Revenue Account No. 101-00-341-40-00 to the General
Government Services Account No. 101-118-518-10-79 for the purposes of
closing out the Coal Export Capital Project No. 223000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
