RESOLUTION NO. 84-125
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
SAND FOR WINTER ICE CONTROL WITHOUT FULL
UTILIZATION OF THE BID PROCEDURES SET
FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE CITY CODE
WHEREAS, approximately 850 cubic yards of sand will be
required this season for winter ice control; and
WHEREAS, the only local supplier for the sand is METCO, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would best be served by
purchasing the sand for winter ice control without full utilization of
the bid procedures set forth in Section 10-8 of the City Code.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into an agreement for purchase of sand from METCO, Inc. in an amount
not-to-exceed $11,475.00.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
