RESOLUTION NO. 84-127
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A 6-MONTH 0 & M BUDGET
FOR THE SHIPLIFT AND APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS
WHEREAS, installation of the shiplift located at the Marine
Industrial Center is essentially complete; and
WHEREAS, maintenance of the shiplift is the responsibility of
the City; and
WHEREAS, proper maintenance of the shiplift is essential to
retain certification by Lloyds of London; and
WHEREAS, maintenance will be heavy during the first few months
until all cables and pulleys are thoroughly coated with grease to
protect from salt corrosion; and
WHEREAS, grounds maintenance will be necessary to provide
winter access to the site; and
WHEREAS, the Council has not approved an operations and
maintenance budget for the shiplift; and
WHEREAS, funds for the O&M budget have not yet been appro-
priated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Operations and Maintenance Budget for the MIC
shiplift, as attached and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A", is hereby
approved.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to appropri-
ate $30,122 from the General Fund-Fund Balance Account No. 101-000-271-
00-00 to the MIC Operations and Maintenance Account No. 101-127-523-
10-XX.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 26 day of November , 19 84.
