RESOLUTION NO. 84-128
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR GENERATOR
FOUNDATIONS WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF THE BID PRO-
CEDURES SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE CITY CODE
WHEREAS,
supplement the two
substation; and
the City has purchased two standby generators to
older Alco generators now in service at the Seward
WHEREAS, IECO has completed plans and specifications for the
location and construction of the foundations needed for the generators;
and
WHEREAS, following the procedures set forth by City Code for
the solicitation of bids for construction of the foundations would be
both costly and time consuming; and
WHEREAS. the advent of winter and its inherent adverse weather
conditions would not permit strict adherence to the bid procedures; and
WHEREAS, two proposals for completion of the work were submit-
ted by local contractors who were contacted by the Engineering Depart-
ment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award the
contract in the amount of $26,894 for construction of foundations for
two generators at the Seward Substation to Owens-Judkins Joint Venture.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately
following its adoption.
