RESOLUTION NO. 84-5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE
ACTIVITIES OF SEWARD SENIOR CITIZENS, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has the highest number of senior
citizens per capita of any Alaskan community; and
WHEREAS, Seward Senior Citizens, Inc., provides numerous
services for senior citizens in the Seward area; and
WHEREAS, Seward Senior Citizens, Inc., relies heavily on
funding provided through the Older Alaskans Commission, which funding to
Seward Senior Citizens, Inc., was reduced by over $14,000 for FY84; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously appropriated $2,400
to Seward Senior Citizens, Inc., for FY84; and
WHEREAS, Seward Senior Citizens, Inc., has requested the City
Council appropriate an additional $5,000 in FY84 for its programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds this request to be in the
community interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

from the General Fund Account No. 101-000-271-00-00 to the
Government Service Account No. 101-118-518-20-61 as a contribu-
