RESOLUTION NO. 85-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT~
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF OU OARD
ENGINES WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF THE BID P CEDURES
SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE CITY lODE

WHEREAS, the Harbor Department musp' replace two outboard
engines in use on its 21' Boston Whaler; and /
/

,
WHEREAS, the Harbor Department ha,S solicited price quotes from
various dealers locally, on the Peninsula~/and in Anchorage; and
/
WHEREAS, full utilization of' the bid procedures set forth in
Section 10-8 of the City Code woul~ be costly and time consuming and
would produce the same results aEJl'the informal solicitation of price
quotes; /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE It'RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. T}ie public interest would best be served by
purchasing the outboarli engines without full utilization of the bid
procedures set forth ~rt Section 10-8 of the City Code.
Section Z. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a
purchase order t9 Alaska Mining and Diving in an amount not-to-exceed
$7,518 for the ,purchase of two 100-horsepower commercial Johnson out-
board engines .j'

Si~tion 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
