CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 85-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A SHORT-TERM LEASE AT LESS THAN FAIR MARKET VALUE WITH THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOR THE OLD BOAT DISPATCH BUILDING WHEREAS, the Kenai Fjords National Park headquarters, located in our community, attracts a myriad of visitors to Seward; and May 1, during WHEREAS, the Park Service must vacate its present location by 1985, and will need a location for a temporary headquarters the construction of its permanent facility; and WHEREAS, the old boat dispatch building is vacant and avail- able for such use; and WHEREAS, the vacant boat dispatch building is not needed for any other use and is offered as a gesture of good faith to the park Service on a short-term basis at less than fair market value; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a short-term lease, attached as Exhibit "B" and incorporated herewith, with the National Park Service for the use of the old boat dispatch building and accompanying parcel to be used as a temporary Park head- quarters and visitor's center. Section 2. Said short-term lease will be offered at less than fair market value in the public interest of assisting the Park Service in establishing a permanent presence in Seward. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect thirty (30) days following adoption.
