RESOLUTION NO. 85-31
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A PUMPER FIRE TRUCK
WHEREAS, the City Fire Department is in need of a new 1500 GPM
pumper truck to meet the potential emergency needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department received five bids from prospec-
tive supplies as a result of its properly advertised request for bids;
and
WHEREAS, the low bidder, American Fire Apparatus, was a
nonresponsive bidder, with 19 exceptions to bid specifications; and
WHEREAS, Emergency One, Inc., submitted the lowest responsive
bid of $185,926, with only 4 exceptions to bid specifications; and
WHEREAS, a Community Block Grant in the amount of $105,000 is
available on a reimbursement basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer
$185,926 from the General Fund-Fund Balance Account No. 101-000-271-0000
to the Special Projects Account No. 206-000-368-04-00.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to issue a
purchase order not to exceed $185,926 to Emergency One, Inc., (Becker
Fire Equipment), the low responsive bidder, for the purchase of a 1500
GPM pumper truck.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
