RESOLUTION NO. 84-42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL
FUND-FUND BALANCE TO THE STREET DEPARTMENT CAPITAL ACCOUNT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF A STREET SWEEPER
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has, in the past, relied upon
borrowed equipment from the State of Alaska to perform street sweeping
within the City; and
WHEREAS, due to increased demands for the State's equipment
from areas outside of Seward, the State's street sweeper is not readily
available for City use; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has investigated the
possibility of contracting sweeping services for the City; and
WHEREAS, this investigation has proved monthly contracting to
be less cost effective than outright purchase of a street sweeper; and
WHEREAS, the administration has solicited bids from qualified
suppliers for a rotary broom sweeper contingent upon Council appropria-
tion of sufficient funds to purchase the equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer
$28,000.00 from the General Fund-Fund Balance Account No. 101-000-271-
00-00 to the Street Department Capital Account No. 101-131-532-10-93 for
the purchase of a street sweeper.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
