CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 83-30
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CONCRETE WORK FOR
DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK REPAIRS WITHOUT UTILIZATION OF THE
BID PROCEDURES AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE SEWARD
CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the City
amount of $22,660 to effect

WHEREAS, the City Administration presented to City Council
at its regular meeting of May 9, 1983, the results of a comprehensive
study of prevailing rates for the purchase of concrete; and
WHEREAS, Metco, Inc. is the only vendor in the Seward
area dealing in ready-mix concrete; and
. WHEREAS, complying with the bidding procedures of Section
10-8 of the Seward City Code would be time consuming and more costly

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. In accordance with Section 10-8 (g) of
the Seward City Code, the City Council finds that it is in the public
interest to waive the bidding procedures as outlined in the Seward
City Code for the purchase of concrete work for the downtown sidewalks
repairs.
Section 2. The City Administration is hereby authorized
to execute a sole source contract with Metco, Inc. for concrete
work to complete sidewalk repairs in an amount not-to-exceed $20,000.
Section 3.
