CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 84-66
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT
FOR A SIX MONTH LEASE EXTENSION TO THE SEWARD ARMY
RECREATION CAMP AND TO DESIGNATE THE CITY AS THE LESSOR
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of May, 1964, the United States of
America and the State of Alaska entered into Lease No.
DA-95-507-eng-1957 covering the following described premises:
Lot 3 of Tract A, U.S. Survey No. 242,
Seward, Alaska, containing 12.428 acres,
more or less, otherwise known as the
Seward Army Recreation Camp; and
WHEREAS, on or about the 28th day of September 1983, the State
of Alaska, by operation of law, conveyed to the City of Seward all of
its rights, title and interest in ~d to the demised premises; and
WHEREAS, additional time/ is required, beyond the scheduled
termination date of said lease, to prepare for negotiation of a new
lease to cover the subject premises; and
WHEREAS, the Lessee has ordered an appraisal of the property
and is ready to negotiate a new lease;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
Supplemental Agreement No.2, a copy of which is attached to and incor-
porated herein by reference as a part of this resolution, with the
United States of America regarding a six month lease extension on the
Army Recreation Camp.
Section 2.

This resolution takes effect thirty (30) days

SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. 2
THIS SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day
of 19, by and bet~leen the United States of Ameri ca, herei n-
after called the Government, represented by the Contracting Officer executing
this agreement, and the City of Seward, whose address is P.O. Box 167, Seward,
Alaska 99664, hereinafter called the Lessor:
WITNESSETH THAT:
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of May 1964, the Government and the State of
Alaska entered into Lease No. DA-95-507-eng-1957 covering the following
described premises:
Lot 3 of Tract A, U.S. Survey No. 242, Seward, Alaska, containing 12.428
acres, more or less, and;
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of December 1979, the Government and the State of
Alaska entered into Supplemental Agreement No.1 which modified said lease to
reduce the frequency of payments and to designate responsibility for payment
to the Finance and Accounting Officer, Fort Richardson, Alaska 99505, and;
WHEREAS, on or about the 28th day of September 1983, the State of Alaska,
by operation of law, conveyed to the City of Seward all of its right, title
and interest in and to the demised premises, and,
WHEREAS, additional time is required, beyond the scheduled termination date
of said lease, to prepare for negotiation of a new lease to cover the subject
premises, and,
WHEREAS, it is found to be in the best interest of the Government to amend
the said lease to properly identify the City of Seward as the successor in
interest to the State of Alaska in this matter and to extend the term of the lease.
NOW THEREFORE, the said lease is hereby modified in the following particulars,
but in no others:
Paragraph 1 is rewritten to delete the name and address of the "State of
Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forest, Land, and
Water Management, 323 East 4th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska, and to substitute
therefore the "City of Seward, P.O. Box 167, Seward, Alaska 99554".
Paragraph 3 is amended to delete the date "30 June 1984" and to
substitute therefore the date "31 December 1984".
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties thereto have executed this agreement
as of the day and year first above written.
