CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 84-80
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
2 VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF THE BID PROCEDURES
SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE CITY CODE
WHEREAS, funds were provided in the FY85 Police Department
Budget for the purchase of 2 vehicles; and
WHEREAS, full utilization of the bid procedures as set forth
in Section 10-8 of the City Code would be costly and time consuming; and
WHEREAS, bid requests for the 2 vehicles were sent to six area
dealers; and
WHEREAS, of the 3 bids received for the patrol vehicle,
Hutchings Chevrolet was the low bidder at $10,176.74; and
WHEREAS, of the 4 bids received for the animal control vehi-
cle, Hutchings Chevrolet was the low bidder at $10,519.07;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a
purchase order to Hutchings Chevrolet is an amount not to exceed
$20,695.81 for the purchase of a patrol vehicle and an animal control
vehicle.

Section 2. The City Council finds that it is in the public
interest not to fully utilize the bid procedures as set forth in the
Section 10-8 of the City Code.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
