RESOLUTION NO. 84-82
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING THE RECEIPT OF A GRANT FROM
THE STATE OF ALASKA, ALASKA POWER AUTHORITY,
FOR THE SEWARD TO DAVE'S CREEK INTERTIE
AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
WHEREAS, HCS CSSB 409 (Finance), page 47, lines 12-14, appro-
priates $5,500,000 to the Alaska Power Authority for the purpose of
contracting with the City of Seward for the Seward to Dave's Creek
Intertie and Electrical System; and
WHEREAS, AS 44.83.080 provides that the Alaska Power Authority
may accept grants and enter into contracts with political subdivisions
of the State of Alaska regarding them; and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Power Authority requires acceptance of
such grant contracts by ordinance or resolution of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The grant of $5,500,000 from the State of Alaska,
Alaska Power Authority, is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is directed to execute those
agreements deemed necessary and sufficient by the Alaska Power Authority
and the City of Seward to accomplish the transfer of the grant funds
from the State of Alaska, Alaska Power Authority, to the City of Seward
to Dave's Creek intertie and electrical system project.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
