CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO, 83-50
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A PICKUP
TRUCK FOR THE HARBOR DEPARTMENT WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF
THE BIDDING PROCEDURES SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the Harbor Department is in need of a pick-up truck
to help meet its daily operational needs; and
WHEREAS, funds were budgeted for the purchase of a pickup
truck and approved by Council with the adoption of the FY 1984 budget;
and
WHEREAS, following the bid procedures as outlined in Section
10-8 of the Seward City Code would be cumbersome, costly and time
consuming; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to get the best possible price, requests
for price quotations were sent to five car dealers in the Anchorage and
Kenai Peninsula Borough areas; and
WHEREAS, price quotations were received from three of those
dealers; and
WHEREAS, Alaska Sales and Service submitted the low quotation
in the amount of $9,166,48 for the purchase of a 1983 Chevrolet Y, ton,
2-wheel drive pickup truck;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
