HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1983-053 . . . e e CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 83-53 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE INITIATION OF THE PUBLIC BID PROCESS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF THE JESSE LEE HOME PROPERTY WHEREAS, THE City of Seward acquired the Jesse Lee Home property in 1966 in order to exercise control of the development of the site; and WHEREAS, over the years there have been many numerous attempts at selling the property in such a manner as to save the old Jesse Lee Home for its historical value; and WHEREAS, recent appraisals have indicated that the buildings are in such a state of disrepair that they may actually be a liability to the development of the property; and WHEREAS, there does appear to be substantial interest by the private sector in the development of the property; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the public interest to dispose of the Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision Addition #1, which includes the Jesse Lee Home, through the public bid process; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to proceed with the necessary steps involved to dispose of the Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision Addition #1 through the public bid process. Section 2. The sale will not be contingent upon the buyer renovating the existing Jesse Lee Home. Section 3. valid land use plans, of Seward. The property will be developed in accordance with zoning ordinances and building codes of the City Section 4. its adoption.
