RESOLUTION NO. 83-55
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE RENOVATION OF AN
OFFICE AND STORAGE FACILITY FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has received a parcel of land
under the Municipal Lands Selection Act, said parcel described as Lots
1-3, Tract A, USS 242; and
WHEREAS, a warehouse
suitable for office and storage
Department; and
located on Lot 1 of said parcel is
space for the City Parks and Recreation
WHEREAS, the proposed facility can be repaired and up-graded
at minimal cost by the Parks and Recreation staff to provide office and
winter storage space; and
WHEREAS, the need for this facility is critical to the opera-
tional needs of the Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, the general public has a vital interest in being
assured that the operation of the Parks and Recreation Department will
continue to provide high quality services and facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The warehouse located on Lot 1, Tract A, USS 242,
is hereby appropriated to the Parks and Recreation Department for the
purpose of providing office and storage space for said department.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer
$20,000 from the general fund account number 101-000-271-00-00 to the
Parks and Recreation Department account number 101-117-517-10-93 for the
purchase of materials and equipment to renovate and upgrade the newly
acquired office/storage space.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 8th day of August , 1983.
