RESOLUTION NO. 83-65
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF WINTER STREET
MATERIALS WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF THE BID PROCEDURES
AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 10-8 OF THE SEWARD CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the City of Seward is in need of salt and calcium
chloride to be used in controlling hazardous street conditions this
winter; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has solicited price
quotations from past vendors and others; and
WHEREAS, complying with the bidding procedures of Section 10-8
of the Seward City Code would be time consuming and more costly to the
City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. In accordance with Section 10-8 (g) of the Seward
City Code, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest not
to go to public bid for the purchase of winter street materials.
Section 2. The City administration is hereby authorized to
execute a sole source contract with Anchorage Chemicals for the purchase
of salt and calcium chloride in an amount not to exceed $9,020.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 12th day of September , 1983.
