RESOLUTION 2005-52
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH TRANS PAC MARINAS TO PROVIDE CONCRETE
FLOATS FOR THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR NORTH HARBOR FLOAT
EXTENSION CAPITAL PROJECT FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$719,695.64, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, on May 23,2005, the City of Seward Council approved Resolution 2005-36
and authorized the City Manager to proceed with Step I of the harbor expansion project, including
concrete float extensions on E, F and J floats; and
WHEREAS, on July 28,2000 the City Council approved the selection of Trans pac Marinas
to supply concrete floats in the harbor; and
WHEREAS, Transpac Marinas was selected as a result of research, site visits and
engineering recommendations, and review of responses to a Request for Proposals ("RFP"); and

WHEREAS, this purchase of concrete floats is exempt from additional competitive
procurement procedures according to SCC 6.1 0.120( a)( 5) because the patented floats can only be
furnished by a single dealer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement in substantially the
form attached hereto to purchase concrete floats to extend the E, F and J floats with TRANSP AC
Marinas of Anacortes, Washington for an amount not to exceed $719,695.64.
Section 2. Funding for these services are appropriated from the Small Boat Harbor
Expansion Capital Project Fund, account no. 274-2743-5930.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 13th
day of June, 2005.
