CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2005-104
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING REIMBURSABLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
TRAVEL GRANT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the State Office of History and Archaeology has reimbursable matching
travel grant funds available for Certified Local Governments to attend the National Alliance of
Preservation Commissions Portland Oregon Forum 2005 on September 25 - 30; 2005; and
WHEREAS, the conference registration and travel expenses will be reimbursed one
hundred percent by the grant because the Commissioner's and staff time traveling to and
attending the conference provides the City's 40% match; and
WHEREAS, one member of the Historic Preservation Commission and one staff
member have expressed and interest in attending the Portland 2005 Forum; and
WHEREAS, due to the financial burden of these costs, the Commission has requested
that the City provide the initial funds for the conference travel and registration; and

WHEREAS, the City of Seward will be one hundred percent reimbursed for the
appropriated funds through the State Office of History and Archaeology grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that
Section 1. The City Council hereby accepts the reimbursable Travel Grant from the State
of Alaska, Office of History and Archaeology in the amount of $4,759.20, to provide travel
expenses and class registration to Grant Revenue Account Number lOI-0000-4680-0200, and
appropriates $4,759.20 to the Community Development department travel account 101-1150-
5410, and authorizes in-kind contributions from the City in the amount of$3,172.80.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 24th
day of October 2005.
