W'IiEREAS, it is s4tc respunsibi4ity of t4ze Historic Preservation C'ontntissivn to
work toward the continuing education ul• Seward', citizens regarding Iocal historic
preservation and conununity history, And
WHEREAS, the Seward Historic Plant & Tree Kegistcr is proposed to prescrvC
and recognize the yignilicanl plants and trees in our community; and
WHEREAS, the goals of the Seward Historic Plant K. "free Register are to
recognize and designate individual plants or trees with community significance, educate
the public about the history, promote appreciation and public awasenes5 and to ciocutucstt
L. and recognize in order to foster the willingucss to protect those plants and trees as pan of
