RESOLUTION 2003-118
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING WHAT IS NOW PAGE 22 SECTOIN V #4 OF THE
CITY COUNCIL RULES OF PROCEDURES TO DELETE GENDER
SPECIFIC WORDING
WHEREAS, this resolution updates page 22 of the City Council Rules of Procedures to
eliminate gender specific wording; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk's office wishes to amend page 22, #4 under the heading "Conflicts of
Interest" of the City Council Rules of Procedures to appear as follows (strike out - deletions, bold
italics = additions):
4, A public officer should not hire his their spouse or child as an employee, unless said
spouse or child is employed for unskilled labor at wages not exceeding $100 in any calendar month,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA that:
Section 1. The City Clerk's office amends page 22, #4 under the heading "Conflicts of
Interest" of the City Council Rules of Procedures to read as follows:
4. A public officer should not hire their spouse or child as an employee, unless said
spouse or child is employed for unskilled labor at wages not exceeding $100 in any calendar month.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 24th day of
November 2003,

The City Clerks office has reviewed the City Council Rules of Procedures and found a

number of housecleaning changes that need to be made in order to update and keep

consistent language between the Council Rules of Procedures and the Seward City Code.
Resolutions 2003-116 through 2003-127 reflect these changes.
