RESOLUTION 2008-108
A RESOLUTION OF THF, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SE WARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGF,R TO MAKE THE
FOLLOWING PERSONNEL ADJUSTitiTENT'S: RECLASSIFY THE
ENGINEF,RING TECH FROM A RANGE (15-17) TO A RANGE (20.5-22.5)
AND CHANGE THE TITLE TO OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
WHF,REAS, the 2008 budget included au addition to the Electric Department, the position
of Engineering Tech, to coordinate and cooperate with the line crew on construction of electrical
facilities and system operations; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward was unsuccessful in fi] ling the position of Engineering Tech
due to a shortage of applicants and the applications received were under qualified; and
~'~'HF,REAS, the needs of the Electric Department have been re-evaluated and more
responsibilities are included in the Operations Supervisor to enable the Manager of Electric Utility to
focus on large projects and goals and assist the Department with the challenging energy needs ofthc
City of Seward.
NOW, THERF,FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SE WARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorised to reclassify the Engineering Tech position from
a (range 15-17), and change the title to Operations Supervisor (range 20.5-22.5).
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption, per SCC
3.15.100 (c).
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 27`x'
day of October, 2008.
