RESOLUTION 2003-134
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ADOPTING THE SEWER ENTERPRISE FUND BUDGET FOR
CALENDAR YEAR 2004
WHEREAS, the proposed Fiscal Year 2004 Operating Budget proposes to split the previous
Water and Sewer Enterprise Fund into two separate funds, the Water Enterprise Fund and the Sewer
Enterprise Fund, for the purposes of better tracking costs and revenues associated with each function
to assist in rate setting and qualifying for various grant and loan programs which require better
separation of such costs and revenues; and
WHEREAS, on October 10, 2003, the City Manager submitted to the City Council a
proposed budget for the City of Seward for Calendar Year 2004; and
WHEREAS, the budget was introduced to the public at the regularly scheduled Council
meeting on October 13, 2003, and through a fiscal condition review at the regularly scheduled
Council meeting on November 3, 2003, and the City Council met in work sessions to review the
proposed budget on October 27, November 7, 17, 18 and 19; and
WHEREAS, public hearings are to be held on the proposed budget on November 24, and
December 8, 2003.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Sewer Enterprise Fund budget for Calendar Year 2004 which is attached
hereto and made a part hereofby reference and which contains estimated revenues and expenses for
the period January 1 - December 31,2004, is HEREBY ADOPTED.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect January 1, 2004.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of December, 2003.
