Seward Chamber of Commerce
Conference and Visitors Bureau
The mission of the Seward Chamber is to promote and support our members in maintaining a diversified economy
and positive business and living environment in the greater Seward area.
Looking ahead to 2012:
• The Seward Destination Guide: Exciting new photos within, excellent cover!
New this year will be a Harbor Page, thanks to the combined effort of kari
Anderson & Yvette Galbraith, AK Marketing Consultants. Yvette was also the
one to say "Hey, let's get our `Where to Find Services' members some
advertising". She's been approaching local sponsors of Chamber events with
a free ad opportunity as an extra thank-you for their great sponsorship. This
coming spring we'll host an Open House at the Chamber, inviting local
businesses to preview the guide and take a good supply for distribution.
• A brand new look and updated technology for seward.com. New website
will officially debut at our Dec 2nd membership meeting. We have it all on
seward.com with tourist information, links to Seward city services and the
harbormaster, an online destination guide and Seward video.
• Maintain our connections via memberships to the US and State Chamber,
ATIA and KPTMC.
• Print and web advertising in addition to our Seward Guide --- besides the
publications on the spreadsheet, we are returning to Bell's Alaska Map Book
—advertisers benefit with online links. We are also looking at "The Alaska
App" provided by the Alaska Channel.
• We invest in "ChamberMaster" software, top of the line software for
Chamber Members, allowing updates and web enhancements in a timely,
cost-effective manner.
Seward Chamber of Commerce PO Box 749 Seward, Alaska 99664
• Event Promotion - The Big Three — The Halibut Tournament in June, the Mt.
Marathon Race, and the Silver Salmon Derby — all bring consumers to
Seward.
• Market Seward to Cruise Ship & Shipping Industries in Seattle next spring.
• Promote Seward in Alaska Airlines Magazine as a conference destination, and
offer conference support and advertising through our Monday morning E-
newsletter.
• Attendance at Sports & Recreation Shows — Fairbanks Outdoor Show, Mat-Su
Outdoor Show & The Great Alaskan Sportsman Show in Anchorage.
• Attendance at a Commercial Trade Show — Pacific Marine Expo in Seattle in
November.
• Operate a year-round visitor information center, supporting travelers and
individuals seeking to relocate to Seward.
• Update and keep current Economic Development Packets.
• Support Travel Writers and Media and provide editors with narrative text
and photos.
We appreciate your continued support and confidence in the Chamber to
provide the very best of our marketing efforts to promote Seward as a
premiere tourism destination as well as the perfect conference & meeting
place. We are doing our best to showcase The Port of Seward, the many
educational opportunites Seward has to offer, and the quality of life we
enjoy here in our home town.
