CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 96-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE
SECTION 15.01.030, OFFICIAL MAPS, TO CONFORM TO THE
CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, on November 27, 1995, the City Council enacted Ordinance No. 95-17, making
certain housekeeping changes to the City Code; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to S 15.01.030 designated the Community Development
Department as the official custodian of all city maps; and
WHEREAS, Section 5.5 (d) of the City Charter provides that the City Clerk is the custodian
of all official records of the City; and
WHEREAS, the intent of the amendment in Ordinance No. 95-17 was to provide for
management, review and the physical location of City maps within the Community Development
Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Seward City Code Section 15.01.030 A. is hereby amended to read as follows:
15.01.030 Official mavs.
A. Management.. Official land use and zoning maps of the city shall be
maintained by and located in the eommunity Development Department. Each map
is adopted by reference and declared to be part of this title in the exact form as it
existed in April 1988, with all subsequent amendments adopted by the city council.
These official maps shall be the final authority as to the current land use and zoning
status of land and water areas, buildings and other structures in the city.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
8th day of January, 1996.
