WHEREAS, the current 1995 model boom mower is not operational, and un-salvageable due to age and many years of use, and parts are no longer manufactured or available; and WHEREAS, only two suppliers were found that sell loader mounted boom mowers; and WHEREAS, both suppliers provided responsive bids; and WHEREAS, Craig Taylor Equipment has provided the lowest bid of $67,175.00 for the replacement boom mower loader attachment which is necessary for the Public Works Department to complete annual street maintenance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to approve the purchase a new Boom Mower loader attachment from Craig Taylor Equipment for the amount of $67,175.00. Section 2. Funding in the amount of $67,175.00 is hereby appropriated from the Capital Acquisition Fund reserves account no. 80010-0000-3400 to the equipment account no. 80010-1310- 8103. Section 3. This resolution shall take -effect immediately upon adoption. Due to its age and many years of road maintenance use, it is past the useful life, not operational, and is un-salvageable. Parts are also no longer manufactured. Thus, repairs are no longer a viable option. Craig Taylor Equipment has provided the lowest price of $67,175.00 to replace the unit with a new boom mower loader attachment. INTENT: The City Council Authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Craig Taylor Equipment to replace the boom mower attachment for an amount not to exceed $67,175.00.
