RE: Requested amendment to City of Seward Resolution 2018-095, Section 1A
Dear Council members,
SeaView respectfully requests that the Council consider amending Resolution 2018-095, Section
1A on beneficial legislation to include:
#11. Legislative support for expanding access to mental health and substance use disorder
treatment and recovery, to include expansion and renovation of the Sea View Community
Services existing behavioral health treatment facility.
SeaView is a non-profit behavioral health agency serving Seward for 46 years. Funds
appropriated or granted to SeaView for its facilities enables the organization to expend its
resources on direct patient care and to improve access to substance use and mental health
treatment, disability services and domestic violence/sexual assault victim services.
Your consideration of this amendment to the beneficial legislation priorities list could be
an important step in obtaining funding for expanding access to SeaView's mental health
and substance use disorder services.
