Carole Tallman will remain in the President's seat, Melissa Schutter is now Vice President and Von Terry is our Treasurer. Nici Murawsky, Shelly Shank, and Brenda Ballou round out the 9 member board. We let Bixler go to run his business and raise a family, and we said good bye to Susie Urbach after ten great years of service. You'll see the link at the bottom of the page. • Winter Weekends — January 25-27, 1;6 coincided with the Polar Bear Jump February 15-17, for the long President's Day Weekend March 15-17, to coincide with St. Patrick's Day April 13-14, the weekend prior to Easter Contact Elizabeth at events@seward.com to sign up for inclusion into Winter Weekends • Our economic development focus for 2019 is on the Blue Economy — Justin Sternberg, the Blue Pipeline Incubator Manager will present at PACAB on Feb 6th . And also with the Seward Business Network, currently working on Winter Weekends (previously mentioned). • The all-new 2019 Seward Destination Guide is on its way from the Portland printers. Can't wait! We'll be welcoming many groups to Seward this year, among them — Region 3 Basketball in March, the Active America China FAM also in March, Yoly is working on getting the Alaska Nurses here in April, a potential Seabird Festival on June 22 is in the works, Local Knowledge, a highly regarded national fishing television show will be here during the Salmon Derby, CHARR (Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant and Retailers Association) Convention this fall, AVTEC's 50th will coincide with SMAF in September, and the Board of Fish in November. I'm probably missing some and I'm sure there'll be more! In April w 'II be moving Chamber Luncheons to Thursdays 0 The original reason was because of the Counc+ work sessions on Fridays — but even if that changes — we've gotten so much positive feedback about the change that we'll keep it no matter what.
