HomeMy WebLinkAbout05132019 City Council Laydown - Sea View Services rvto r'9 4 / Sos/ 3 000, SeaView Programs and Community Services Services GENERAL MENTAL HEALTH The General Mental Health Program at SeaView is a comprehensive program offered to help individuals strug- gling with a variety of mental health concerns.Adults,adolescents and children,dealing with depression,anxi- ety,bipolar disorder,and a variety of other common mental illnesses can receive support,guidance,treatment, and education in a safe and calming environment without the fear of judgment.We help you learn the skills you need to manage your symptoms,gain control,and cope with the daily stressors in your life. PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY SERVICES Psychiatric Emergency Services is a 24/7 service that provides emergent and individualized evaluation and crisis stabilization for individuals presenting with psychiatric and/or substance-related emergencies. We also provide crisis consultation with community agencies and other care providers. Individuals in need of services should call 907-224-3027. SUBSTANCE USE RECOVERY The Substance Use Recovery Program offers several outpatient treatment options for individuals with a substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. All of our programs focus on the client as an individual, with treatment plans created around each person's unique needs. All of our programs are designed to help clients understand the negative effects of alcohol and/or drugs on their lives and relationships. Treatment may include individual therapy,conjoint and/or family therapy,and/or group therapy. ALCOHOL SAFETY ACTION PROGRAM The Alaska Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) provides substance abuse screening, case management and accountability for DWI and other alcohol/drug related misdemeanor cases.This involves screening cases referred from the district court into drinker classification categories, as well as thoroughly monitoring cases throughout education and/or treatment requirements. COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM The Community Support Program provides services for the seriously mentally ill, such as those diagnosed with Schizophrenia,Bipolar Disorder,and/or Major Depression.This program includes a wide range of services designed to maintain individuals with serious mental health problems in the community. The services include assistance in daily living skills,group therapy,supportive employment,social/recreational opportunities,and education regard- ing mental illness and substance abuse. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT Seaview's Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Program strives to create a community in which individuals are safe and supported to nurture themselves and their families.We believe every individual deserves the right to live free of violence.We work to reduce the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing:safety and immediate care for victims,advocacy in the judicial,medical and social services systems,and public education to promote awareness and prevention. We are here to help if you find yourselves impacted by domestic violence or sexual assault. Crisis Services are available 24/7 for those experiencing domestic violence or sexual assault at (907)362-1843 a EARLY INTERVENTION AND INFANT LEARNING The Infant Learning Program assures that services are available for families with infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months of age) with special needs. These services support families and promote the growth and development of children in their critical early years. Services may include screening, assessment, special instruction, family sup- port and therapies to meet the child's unique developmental needs. AGES AND STAGES AND PARENT AID Provide services to support parents in providing a healthy and safe environment for children while connecting to resources in community.Ages&Stages Questionnaires(monitoring children's development 0-5)with appropriate referrals if necessary and parenting classes. PLAY AND CHAT Play&Chat is a play group for children accompanied by education and discussion for parents. The playtime pro- vides developmentally appropriate activities and encourages parents to play with their children. Parents also have a chance to meet other parents and discuss concerns and issues that related to raising young children birth to age 5 offering a natural support group. BABY WELCOME WAGON Baby Welcome Wagon is a community endeavor to welcome newborns into the community. The family is con- tacted and visited by an infant learning coordinator to present a gift basket along with a handmade baby quilt.
