MEMORANDUM
TO: Council members
FROM: Mayor Squires •
SUBJ: Input on 2020/2021 budget
I apologize again for not being available for the important discussion that all of you will
have. I am submitting several ideas for each of you to consider and to direct
Administration to research if you feel that they have merit.
1. Develop plans for a new Public Works building with the options of adding space for
other departments to be housed there.
2. Move the Assistant City Manager position totally into Administration and assign the
duties of grant administration and review.
3. Re-establish the position of Community Development Director and assign the duties
of code enforcement to this position.
4. Establish a communication pool similar to the motor pool, where departments could
deposit funds for maintenance and equipment that are shared throughout the city
departments.
