HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1981-012 r CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 81- 12 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, LEASING CERTAIN LAND TO RON HENDERLONG, DBA RON'S TOWING & WRECKING. WHEREAS, the following described parcel has been utilized as a vehicle storage and impoundment area within the City of Seward; A parcel of land within the Townsite of Seward, Alaska, upon Lots 17, 18 and 19, Block 21, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Jgfferson as monumented with Road Monument 6, using N o 01'30"E to Road Monument 7 as a Basis of Bearing, thence, N 17018' 14"W, ItF .l4 feet to The True Point of Beginning, thence, @ 86 36'lO"W, 11S.76 feet to a fence corner, thence, N 0 23'30"W, 70.12 feet to a fence corner, thence, S 0048'3S"E, 68.65 feet to The True Point of Beginning, containing 8,004 square feet, more or less. WHEREAS, Ron Henderlong, dba Ron's Towing desires to obtain a lease to said property in order vehicle impoundment and storage facility, and & Wrecking, to conduct a WHEREAS, the proposal of Ron Henderlong, encompassed in that certain lease agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A has been reviewed by the City Council of the City of Seward, and WHEREAS, said lease agreement has been the subject of a public hearing held on May 18, 1981, and WHEREAS, in accordance with 2-83 of the Seward Code, the City Attorney has endorsed the lease agreement, and WHEREAS, no adverse comments to the proposed lease have been received from the public and the City Council remains convinced that it is the public interest to lease the described land, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, that; Section 1. In accordance with Sec. l2. 3 (b) of the City Charter, this resolution shall be on file in the office of the city Clerk for thirty (30) days and shall be posted in accordance with Sec. 2-84 of the City Code. -1- RESOLUTION NO, 81-12 section 2. Upon the expiration of thirty (30) days, as set forth in section 1, above, this resolution shall become automati- cally effective and the Mayor is instructed to execute the lease agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
