CALL TO ORDER
The January 24,2018 special meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to
order at 6:34 p.m. by Chair Linda Lasota.
OPENING CEREMONY
Fred Woelkers led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
ROLL CALL
There were present:
Linda Lasota presiding and Cliff Krug
Fred Woelkers Wolfgang Kurtz
comprising a quorum of the Commission; and
Administration—None
Excused—None
Absent—Libbrecht, Darling
CITIZEN COMMENTS ON ANY SUBJECT EXCEPT THOSE ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR

APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND CONSENT AGENDA
Motion (Kurtz/Krug) Approval of Agenda and Consent Agenda
Motion Passed Unanimous

SPECIAL ORDERS, PRESENTATIONS,AND REPORTS—None
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion and approval to apply for a CLG training grant for two commissioners to attend
the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions for 2018 in Des Moine,Iowa on July 18-22,
2018.
Lasota said it was decided that Kurtz and Krug would go to the training at the January 17,
2018 HP meeting. She reminded the commissioners that no tickets could be purchased for this
training until the Certified Local Government (CLG) grant was approved by the city and the
Department of Archeology. She said the goal was for the Historic Preservation commission(HP)to

have their documents for this training filled out and turned in by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26,
2018.
In response to Woelkers, Lasota said she would add an alternate to the official submission
form for the training.
In response to Kurtz, Lasota said the CLG training grant was a travel grant. She said council
needed a guarantee that somebody was going to come up with the matching funds.
In response to Krug, Lasota said commissioners could speak to council during citizens'
comments about the resolution to approve this training.
Motion (Kurtz/Krug) Approve the budget worksheet for the CLG
training grant.
Motion Passed Unanimous
COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS
Kurtz thanked the commissioners for attending the special meeting.
Krug thanked the commissioners.
Lasota thanked everyone for a quick meeting. She said Lee Poleske would be giving a
presentation on the 1946 airplane crash at the Resurrection Bay Historical Society(RBHS)meeting
on January 25, 2018.
