HomeMy WebLinkAbout11252019 City Council Laydown - AKSLC Request to amend Resolution 2019-112 by the Alaska SeaLife Center:
Section 1, B 3 (Authorizations and Beneficial Legislation):
3. Support the establishment of a Prescott grant program within the Fish &Wildlife Service
budget to provide support for a Ue stranding network and responding to marine mammal
and--; Q live stranding and mortalities throughout Alaska.
Reasoning: ASLC requests the "live" be stricken from the stranding network program as they do
respond to live animals and mortalities throughout the state (in many cases, necropsies are
performed) and ASLC requests references to "seabird" be stricken as the Prescott grant isn't
typically used for seabird response (protocol is to send birds in need of rehab to Bird TLC in
Anchorage).
